Collection Highlights

The Schrimsher collection comprises some 300 pieces of American Classical furniture crafted between c. 1800–1840. The majority of these objects were produced in the four main cabinetmaking centers along the East coast: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The collection also includes works manufactured outside of these urban centers that demonstrate the spread and popularity of these regional styles beyond their geographic confines.
